Deryl Dodd Appearing At Rodeo City Music Hall

Top-charting Texas singer-songwriter Deryl Dodd gets another No. 1 hit on the November Texas music charts and on Thursday, Dec. 9, he will be headlining an acoustic event at Rodeo City Music Hall on the square in Old Town Mesquite.
A graduate of Skyline High School and Baylor University, Deryl’s music is well-known both in Texas and Nashville. Deryl moved to Nashville in 1991 and soon found himself in front of huge crowds as guitarist and backup vocalist for Martina McBride and Tracy Lawrence and opening for such acts as Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw and Brooks and Dunn. By 1996 he had released his first CD for Columbia Records and was under contract with BMG for a song publishing deal. His songs have been recorded by Tim McGraw, Chris LeDoux and others, but some of the best music is on Deryl’s own very successful solo albums. Returning home in early 2003, Deryl has been a constant in the Top 10 of Texas’s music charts.
Along with Deryl will be long-time friend Ralph Mosqueda and his Dirt Road Gypsies. Bull-riding champion, Mosqueda was a hometown favorite at the Mesquite Championship Rodeo. He qualified for the Texas Circuit finals as one of top 15 money earners and won two championships. After a career-ending knee injury, he picked up a guitar and with the support and encouragement of family and friends, including Deryl, he founded the Dirt Road Gypsies. Their first CD was released in 2010 under the Glycerin Records label. The transition from 8-second rides on a bull to 90-minute sets on a stage seemed natural for this Texas cowboy who was already used to the strong work ethic needed to succeed in both careers.
Deryl Dodd and Ralph Mosqueda with the Dirt Road Gypsies will be making a special appearance on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rodeo City Music Hall in Old Town Mesquite. The event is sponsored by the syndicated Texas Music Radio Show (TXMRS.com) and produced by Make Mine Texas LLC of Mesquite.
Tickets are on sale now. Special discounts apply for children and seniors. For event or media information call 713-818-5328 or Rodeo City Music Hall at 972-285-9343.
